Vision & Mission
Two statements that guide every program decision we make: who we admit, what we teach, and how we check whether it worked.
We imagine a Democratic Republic of Congo where young people have the opportunity, the confidence and the support to earn a decent living and solve the problems in their own communities.
SENTA works with young people in Eastern DR Congo to build the personal and practical skills they need to take initiative, solve problems and run social enterprises that last. We bring together personal development, entrepreneurship, mentorship, incubation and learning in community.
Young people are not defined by the circumstances they were born into.
People grow when they take real responsibility for their choices, their learning and their actions.
We learn by doing, testing, reflecting, and trying again.
The people who live a problem understand it best, and often see the way out.
We open doors for young people who have fewer opportunities, with special attention to young women.
Change lasts longer when people learn, build and support each other.
We are not trying to build a generation that waits for opportunities. We are helping young people develop the confidence, skills and networks to create them.
SENTA, our purpose
